PURPOSE:To sterilize the interior of a dental pulp canal and to bring a dental pulp canal wall into an inorganic state by a method wherein laser beams are guided in a dental pulp canal through an optical fiber protected by a protection tube, and irradiation with laser beams is effected in the axial direction of the optical fiber or the direction of the wall of the pulp canal. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams are oscillated by means of an oscillating part 5a, and the laser beams are guided to an optical system 5b and a front end 1a of an optical fiber 1. When a probe A is inserted in a dental pulp canal 12, irradiation with laser beams is effected in the direction of the wall of the pulp canal by means of a reflection mirror 3. The surface of the pulp canal wall irradiated with laser beams is instantaneously gasified and transpired. A layer formed continuously to a gasification layer is converted into an inorganic substance as a result of an organic component, with which a dental pulp canal wall is formed, being carbonized by means of energy of laser beams. Thereby, bacteria adhered to the pulp canal wall can be sterilized. |
