PURPOSE:To avoid a potential hazard by a dead angle by reading a dead angle range of a corresponding car kind being based on the size of an adjacent preced ing car for an intracar thereafter generating an alarm when the intracar is positioned in the dead angle range of the concerned car kind being based on a distance from the adjacent preceding car of the intracar. CONSTITUTION:Size of a preceding car, running ahead in an adjacent lane of an intracar, is detected by a visual sensor 14. While a distance between the intracar and the above described preceding car is detected by a distance sensor 18. Further the above described detection signals are respectively input to an arithmetic processing circuit 22. On the other hand, in the arithmetic processing circuit 22, a dead angle range, preset in accordance with a car kind of passenger car, truck, bus, etc., is left as stored in a memory 22b. Being based on the size detected of the preceding car, the dead angle range of the corresponding car is read from the memory 22b, while being based on the detected distance, whether the intracar is positioned or not in the dead angle range of the concerned car kind is decided by a CPU22c. As a result, when the intracar is positioned in the dead angle range, an alarm generator device 24 is actuated. |
