An improvement is provided in a vacuum cleaner hose construction that comprises an elongated vacuum hose having an electrical conductor extending therealong and being provided with an end portion, and an electrical connector carried by the hose and being fixed to the end portion. In such improvement, the connector has a knife-like portion provided with opposed edges defining sides of a slot therein that has an open end and a closed end, the end portion being disposed in the slot of the connector and being wedged between the opposed edges thereof for providing electrical connection therebetween. The connector has another knife-like portion disposed in spaced parallel relation to the first-named knife-like portion and is fixed to the end portion of the conductor by the slot thereof that faces in the same direction that the slot of the first-named knife-like portion faces. The connector also has holding means carried thereby and has a part thereof disposed adjacent the conductor to hold the conductor in the slots by trapping the conductor between the part and the closed ends of the slots. The holding means is disposed intermediate the knife-like portions. The connector has two snap-fit means disposed on opposite sides of the slots, and the holding means likewise has two snap-fit means respectively snap-fitted with the snap-fit means of the connector. In this way, the holding means is carried by the connector intermediate the knife-like portions thereof. |
