PURPOSE:To obtain the subject structure of a high-temperature high-strength and rigid, light and low-thermal conductance heatinsulated engine making the inner surface of the engine exposed to a combustion gas using a high density ceramics and forming a heat-insulating layer composed of resintered ceramics whiskers on the outside thereof. CONSTITUTION:On the disclosed surface of a heating unit of a headliner 1, etc., which constitutes the inner wall of an engine and is exposed to a high pressure and temperature in explosion, a thin film 2 composed of a high density sintered ceramics such as Si3N4 is placed and a heat-insulating material 3 prepared on the outside thereof by resintering Si3N4 whiskers between the contact points thereof is formed into one body together with a thin film 2 to form the objective structure of a heat-insulated engine. The heat-insulated engine is produced by using a sintered monolithic ceramics as a part of a slip cast mold, pouring a slurry of ceramics whiskers thereinto and resintering them into one body. |
