<p>PURPOSE: To shorten delay time for connecting-disconnecting a viscous clutch by attracting a tightening connection ring plate of an operating part by electromagnetic force to move a shielding ring against a spring so as to release a closing ball from a tightening position. CONSTITUTION: A clutch housing 2 and a viscous clutch 1a is connected to a switching clutch 1b through a hollow shaft 17 provided with a flange 18. At the time of non-braking, a current is not applied to a coil 42 of a ring magnet 40. A shielding ring 25 of an operating part 36 is urged by a spring 28, and a closing ball 24 is held in a cutout cavity 23 of the hollow shaft 17 to tighten the viscous clutch 1a. At the time of barking, the ring magnet 40 is excited to attract the operating part 36, and the shielding ring 25 is moved to the left against the spring 28 to release the closing ball 24 from the cutout cavity 23 by the cutout support face 30, thus releasing tightening of the viscous clutch 1a. The viscous clutch 1a can therefore be connected/disconnected with small delay time, with high reliability.</p> |
