Anticalculus compositions using tartrate-succinates

Tartrate monosuccinate and tartrate disuccinate compounds of the formulas HO(CHCOOX)CH(COOX)OCH(COOX)CH2COOX and CH2(COOX)CH-(COOX)O(CH[COOX])2OCH(COOX)CH2COOX are used to provide anticalculus benefits on teeth. Oral care composition such as dentifrices, mouthwashes, and the like, are provided. Use of the tartrate-succinates in combination with other oral care ingredients such as fluoride, pyrophosphate and antibactrials is also described.
