PURPOSE:To prevent thermal breakage and to increase reliability by containing microcracks within an electrolyte matrix. CONSTITUTION:In an electrolyte plate 2 prepared by the impregnating of a eutectic salt of lithium carbonate and potassium carbonate in an electrolyte matrix made of lithium aluminate, microcracks are contained within the electrolyte matrix. The microcracks are produced by the incitement of alumina particles when alumina fibers and particles, and pulp are mixed with lithium aluminate and the mixture is molded, then the pulp is burned out in the air. Internal stress caused by expansion and sgrinkage of the electrolyte attendant on temperature increase and decrease is absorbed by the microcracks and reduced. Thermal breakage is prevented and reliability is increased. |
