PURPOSE:To increase energy density and improve the charge/discharge cycle characteristics by using a positive electrode made of a lithium containing oxide and a negative electrode made of a ferric oxide, and using LiCoO2, LiMn2O4 or their mixture for the lithium containing oxide. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode made of a lithium containing oxide and a negative electrode made of a ferric oxide are used, and LiCoO2, LiMn2O4 or their mixture is used for the lithium containing oxide. An active material doped with lithium in advance is used for the positive electrode. When a battery is assembled and charged, the lithium contained in the positive electrode is electrochemically doped into the iron oxide of the negative electrode, as a result, it means the same effect that the lithium serving as the active material is contained in the iron oxide of the negative electrode from the start, and the expansion and collapse of iron oxide due to the quick doping of lithium can be prevented by controlling the charging time at the time of doping. |
