The invention relates to a container for selective collecting of waste. It includes a vessel (1) partitioned into two separate volumes (4, 5), one (4) of which is intended for collecting objects which have a weight below a predetermined value, the said container including, in the fall path (6) of objects introduced in the upper part of the vessel, a plate (7) mounted so as to pivot, about a horizontal axis (8), between a first inclined position in which objects falling on the plate are guided by it so as to fall into the first volume (4), and a second inclined position in which objects falling on the plate are guided by it so as to fall in the said other volume (5) of the vessel, the said plate being permanently stressed towards the said first position by a return member, the return force of which is predetermined so that the reception on the plate of objects having a weight greater than a predetermined value causes the tilting of the plate towards its second position and the fall of the corresponding objects into the said second volume, whilst the fall of objects having a weight below the said predetermined value does not exert sufficient force on the plate to overcome the return force of the said return member, so that the plate does not tilt from its first position and thus guides the corresponding objects into the said first volume. <IMAGE>
