PURPOSE:To produce products of stable dimensional accuracy and beautiful appearance with good productivity in casting of products with boss by providing an overflow recess communicating with the gate at the end face of a boss part, and conducting gas and leading melt to the outside of the product. CONSTITUTION:A cavity 3 for forming a product body A' is formed of a stationary die 1 and a movable die 2, and a cavity 5 for forming a boss part A' is formed of the die 2 and cast pin 4. Further, the other boss part A'' is formed of the dies 1, 2 and a cast pin 15. Overflow recesses 11, 12 are provided in continuation to the pin 4 and slide core 9 communicating with a gate 10 positioned at the end face of the boss part A'', and after the casting, the slide core is retreated in preference to die opening so that a dropping hole 13 is opened. Thence, the pin 4 is retreated and an overflow 16 is moved to be disconnected from the gate 10 and to be disengaged from the pin 4, whereby it is dropped to the outside of the dies through the hole 13. Thereby, the die cast product with boss free from stripes of molten metal surface and insufficient packing in the part A'' is cast. |
