PURPOSE:To improve cleanability and to suppress the generation of blade squeaking by specifying the outside diameter and thickness of a photosensitive drum, the binder resin on a surface layer, the material and contact length of a cleaning blade, and the external additives of a magnetic one-component developer and the amt. of the additives to be added. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive drum 10 consisting of a conductive base 11 which has <=60mm outside diameter and <=2mm thickness and the surface layer 15 of the photosensitive layer which contains bisphenol Z type polycarbonate is used as an electrophotographic sensitive body. The developer externally added with 0.02 to 1% hydrophobic colloidal silica is used as the magnetic one-component developer. A blade consisting of a polyurethane resin is used as the cleaning blade 6. Cleaning is executed while the cleaning blade 6 is kept brought into contact with the surface of the photosensitive body so as to attain contact length l =0.1 to 2.5mm. The cleanability is improved in such a manner and the surface friction resistance between the photosensitive body and the cleaning blade is lowered. The blade squeaking, etc., are thus prevented. |
