Shock absorber for horizontal pipe, characterised in that it includes an immobile support (1) including two sets (3, 3') of shock-absorbing pads (4) located on either side of a lightweight vertical plate (10) provided with a central opening (11) through which the horizontal pipe (13) passes, the said plate (10) being pressed on both sides by the pads (4) and being capable of sliding vertically whilst remaining orthogonal to the pipe (13). When the mean position of the pipe 13 changes, the intermediate plate 10 slides with respect to the support 1. No static stress therefore remains in the pipe 13. <IMAGE>
