PURPOSE:To attain effective use of a remaining part of the screen by devising the receiver such that a picture displayed on the remaining part of the screen is an efficient pattern for the viewer. CONSTITUTION:A position detection drive circuit 20 is provided to a front face side of a cathode ray tube 23 to detect a position (scanning position) of an operation element (e.g. a finger of the operator) able to be changed to an optional position on the cathode ray tube screen. A controller 21 outputs a control signal such as channel changeover based on a pattern output signal outputted at present and the inputted position detection signal. When patterns such as mode changeover, sound volume adjustment, brightness adjustment and contrast adjustment are displayed on the remaining part 40, a finger touches on an item desired of operation and also a mark representing UP/DOWN, then the adjustment is implemented. |
