PURPOSE:To print out an image on a display without changing its color tone by displaying gradational patterns of plural colors on a display means, inputting them to color sensors and finding the coloration characteristics of the display means, and correcting an image signal when printing-out operation is performed. CONSTITUTION:The display characteristics of the display means are detected with the output of a read means and the output characteristics of an output means or the display characteristics of the display means are corrected according to the detection result. For example, a host computer 200 generates the gradational color patterns of plural colors on the display means such as a color CRT and they are read with a light pen 23, etc., provided to a color sensor to find the extent of coloration of the display means automatically and the output characteristics of a color printer 222, etc., are corrected by a density conversion part 105. Consequently, colors on the display means can be obtained faithfully as the output of an output means. |
