PURPOSE:To manufacture a magnetic recording medium of multilayer construction less in uneven sensitivity and output fluctuation and uneven thickness, by adding two specific kinds or resins and a polyfunctional isocyanate compound to a binding agent of lower magnetic layers. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic recording medium in which >=2 magnetic layers are formed in ultilayer on a base, (A) a phenoxy resin, (B) a polyester resin including >=2 hydroxyl groups (normally, 2,000-30,000 molecular weight), and (C) an isocyanate compound including >=2 isocyanate groups (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate) are added to a binding agent of magnetic layers other than the uppermost layer. The isocyanate group in the compound C reacts with the hydroxyl group in the resins A and B, they are cross-linked in three dimension, the solubility against solvent is increased, uneven thickness of the magnetic layers is reduced, and uneven sensitivity and output fluctuation are prevented from being increased. |
