DEPOSITING DEVICE FOR FINE GLASS PARTICLE

PURPOSE:To form a profile having required refractive index in the core part of the deposited body of fine glass particles by separating a deposition box into the deposition box for a core and the deposition box for a clad when the base material of optical fiber is prepared by depositing fine glass particles produced from a burner by a VAD method. CONSTITUTION:When the base material of optical fiber is prepared by introducing a gaseous raw material of glass such as SiCl4 into oxyhydrogen flame of a burner in a deposition box and producing fine glass particles by a flame hydrolytic method and depositing them on a target, the deposition box is separated into the deposition box 5 for a clad and the deposition box 6 for a core. Further the burners are separately provided as the burners 3 for the clad and the burner 4 for the core. A pressure sensor 9 is provided in the deposition box 5 for the clad and the opening of a damper 12 is regulated by a signal thereof to hold the pressure in the box 5 constant.
