<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to pick up Korotkoff-sounds as well as oscillatory pressure waves by mounting a sound pickup cup inside a flexible rectangular bag of a pressure belt for blood pressure measuring. CONSTITUTION: A pressure belt 8 confines an elastic bag 12 inside thereof using a casing 10. The bag 12 comprises a circular cup 14 mounted on the inner wall of the bag. A pneumatic tube 16 extends from the cup 14 through the bag 12. When operating, the bag 12 is encased in the casing 10 of the pressure belt for blood pressure measuring, then, the casing 10 is wound closely around an arm of a patient so as to be positioned on a brachial artery. The pressure inside the tube 16 is connected with a closed vessel 24 through a closed vessel 20 and a conduit 26, and this pressure is measured by a pressure transducer 28. At the same time, Korotkoff-sound are picked up by the cup 14. The Korotkoff-sounds do not proceed to the inside of the bag but are connected to the closed vessel 20 via the tube 16, and the acoustic signals in the tube 16 are converted into corresponding electric signals by a microphone 22. This enables a sound pickup to detect Korotkoff-sounds with relatively high frequency.</p> |
