The automatic assembly device has a number of independent operating heads displaced longitudinally along an assembly path relative to a number of sliding palettes (4). A common longitudinal carrier (9) extends above the assembly path with attached cross carriers, supporting the operating heads displaced across the assembly path. Pref., the movement of each operating head relative to the cross carrier and the movement of each cross carrier relative to the longitudinal carrier (9) is provided by a linear drive. ADVANTAGE - Fully automised. Reduced space requirement. Working troubles can usually be cleared by non-specialised staff.
