PURPOSE: To prevent the movement of a wire during crimping and do short stroke crimping work by fixing the insulated wire at or near the end with a holding means to crimp and connect a terminal with an anvil as a crimping means and a crimping die adjacent to the end. CONSTITUTION: An insulated wire W of a cable C is held and fixed at or near the end with the fixture of a fixing means and the relative movement of movable latches 2, 4. In such a state, cutters 14 of a stopper unit 8 are mutually overlapped, and then the unit 8 is moved backward to separate the insulated portion of the wire W for exposing a wire P. An anvil 6 as a crimping means and a crimping die 7, mounted with a terminal T, are moved downward and upward, respectively, for crimping the terminal T to the wire P. The holding means allows accurate crimping of the terminal T, without moving the insulated with during crimping and quick crimping in short stroke work with the movement of both the anvil as the crimping means and the crimping die. |
