<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a power source and to improve the recording speed by a method wherein heating elements are divided into 2N blocks, a couple of blocks are regarded as a group in a recording control, a group is recorded if the number of black pixels in the group is higher than a predetermined number, and a plurality of groups are recorded within the predetermined number if the number of black pixels in the group is lower than the predetermined number. CONSTITUTION:A judgement circuit Jc regards two adjacent blocks of heating parts T1-T8, i.e., the heating parts T1, T2, the heating parts T3, T4... the heating parts T7, T8, respectively as groups H1-H4. Counters C1-C4 respectively count the number of black pixels in groups H1-H4. If the number of black pixels is not less than a predetermined number K, the heating parts T1-T8 are divided, and each of the heating parts T1-T8 is recorded. If the number of black pixels in the group H1-H4 is lower than the predetermined number K and the total number of black pixels is lower than the predetermined number K, the plurality of groups H1-H4 in combination are simultaneosuly recorded, whereby the number of drive is reduced. In this manner, a power source capacity is reduced, and the recording speed is improved.</p> |
