The bearing mounting for a high speed shaft, as for the cap in a cap spinner and the like, has an adjustment (19) to the pretension applied on the axially-sliding bearing ring (14). Pref. the adjustment unit is a component (19), which moves axially, to engage at the fixed section (4), and a spring unit (18) with one end to engage the axially-sliding bearing ring (14) and the other end supporting the axially-moving adjuster (19), which is threaded to screw with the threading at the fixed section (4). A common control applies axial movement to all the adjusters (19) for a number of bearings. ADVANTAGE - The bearing play and/or the bearing friction can be controlled.
