PURPOSE: To prevent the loss of materials by providing a desired lateral cross section in the area of a 2nd end face to be formed by sliding fibers together through one sliding member at least. CONSTITUTION: The fibers are slid together by one sliding member 21 or 22 at least. Namely, the fibers are supplied from a planarly arranged storage 20 and next, the fibers are slid together on the desired lateral cross section in the area of the 2nd end face to be formed, and fixed in this arrangement. Finally, the fixed fibers are cut and disconnected from residual fibers in the storage 20. Thus, the loss of fibers is prevented and further, it requires only once to cut the respective fibers. |
