A heat loss insulation system for an active charcoal filter and a method of mfr. Insulation consists of a fabric pad filled with heat resistant material which forms a flat structure on, at least two faces of which closure elements are attached. When fitted onto the charcoal filter the two closure elements are connected and the insulation retains the fitted shape, which permits re-use of the insulation system. The fabric pad consists of aluminium or PTFE coated glass fibre fabric and is stitched together with aramid thread. Needled glass fibre mat is used as a filter. USE/ADVANTAGE - Prevents heat loss to the environment from active charcoal filters used for filtering exhaust gas. The insulation system is simple and quick to remove and is reusable.
