An inductive communication path is established between an implanted heat pacemeker has a transmitter circuit (3) coupled to a coil that produces a local field (5). The monitoring unit has a receiver coil (7) placed in the vicinity of the pacemaker field. The receiver coil connects via twisted pair wires (10, 11) with a receiver circuit (8) and a compensation coil (9). The coil countercuts the effect of any externally genrated magnetic field noise (13). ADVANTAGE - Eliminates effect of magnetic noise upon unit.
