PURPOSE:To enable attainment of a device being small in size, light in weight and easy to remove, by providing a linear source inside a radiation shield vessel having a plurality of radiation-transmitting holes so that it is in parallel to the direction of arrangement of the holes and by fitting it removably to the front of a collimator. CONSTITUTION:A source device 5 for correction prepared by disposing a linear beam source 53 inside a radiation shield vessel 51 having a plurality of radiation-transmitting holes 52 is fitted removably to the front of a collimator 4 so that the direction of arrangement of the holes 52 is at a right angle to a slice plane. The distribution of radiation counts in the direction perpendicular to the slice plane is measured, a correction coefficient or a conversion characteristic is obtained corresponding to the positional relationship with the holes 52, and thereby the nonlinearity of a position signal in the direction perpendicular to the slice plane due to the nonuniformity in the positional relationship with a scintillator 1 and a photomultiplier tube 3 is improved. When the collimator 4 is rotated in this state, the distribution of the radiation counts can be measured at all positions. This constitution makes it possible to make the device small in size, light in weight and easy to remove.
