<p>The invention relates to a rail guard. Its subject is a rail guard comprising, for each of the front wheels of a rail vehicle, an elongate support, a first end of which is fixed to the front axle of the vehicle, and an impact piece placed in front of the wheel and in the vicinity of the rail, characterised in that the impact piece (5) is fastened to a first plate (6) articulated on a second plate (7) fastened to the second end of said elongate support (3) and parallel to said first plate, the axis of articulation (8) being perpendicular to the rail, said first and second plates being maintained at a constant distance (d) from one another, at least one bolt (14) being engaged at one end into a bore of said first plate (6) and at a second end into a bore of said second plate (7), and the direction of said bolt (14) being parallel to said axis of articulation (8).
