Ski mfr. involves extrusion of a continuous hollow section with an approx. oval cross-section. Individual ski lengths are cut off and rolled or pressed, the pressure application increasing as the distance from the central area where bindings are attached. The hollow body (1) forming the ski has the form of a flat lens. The underside of the hollow body (1) is provided with extensions (2) which form a flat skiing surface. Wedge shape areas (3) above the extensions (2) are filled with polymer. Ski material is typically aluminium. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process improves a current ski prodn. process and gives the highest possible bending elasticity with high torsional resistance.
