PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction of a dropout compensating circuit for an audio multiplex system, by changing the dropout detection level during variable speed reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A detected output of a dropout detecting circuit 12 is inputted to dropout detecting circuits 17 and 18. The detecting level of the circuit 17 is set lower than that of the circuit 18 so that the circuit 17 can malfunction at variable speed reproduction. Further, a preceding value holding circuit 9 is operated with an output of the circuit 17 at variable speed reproduction and of the circuit 18 at other than the variable speed reproduction, through a switching circuit 16 which is operated with a control signal showing the variable reproducing period inputted from an input terminal 19. Thus, during the period of variable speed reproduction, the dropout detection level is changed, allowing to prevent malfunction of the dropout compensating circuit. |
