PURPOSE:To prepare a thermoplastic resin compsn. excellent in the impact strength, moldability, heat resistance, weatherability, etc., by compounding a (hydrogenated) ring-opening (co)polymer of a norbornene deriv. with a specific graft copolymer in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:The title composition comprises 98-20 pts.wt. polymer obtd. by the ring-opening polymn. of a monomer comprising at least one norbornene deriv. of formula I [wherein A and B are each H or a 1-10C hydrocarbon group; X and Y are each A, halogen, a 1-10C halogenated hydrocarbon group, or a group of formula II to XII (wherein R<1> to R<4> are each a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; and n is 0-10); and m is 0 or 1], or copolymer obtd. by the ring-opening copolymn. of the above monomer with a copolymerizable monomer (e.g. cyclopentene), or hydrogenated polymer obtd. by hydrogenating one of the above (co) polymers; and 2-80 pts.wt. graft polymer obtd. by graft polymerizing 95-10wt.% monomer contg. an arom. alkenyl compd. (e.g. styrene) as its essential component with 5-90wt.% polyorganosiloxane (e.g. octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane) contg. 0.1-50wt.% graft cross-linking agent (e.g. p- vinylphenylmethyldimethoxysilane) which has been copolymerized therein. |
