The invention relates to an improved passive-transponder system suitable for the identification of the codes stored in one or more transponders by means of a transmission and reading apparatus, comprising, in the said transmission and reading apparatus: means for storing a list of the codes of all the transponders which are to be identified; and transmission means for inductively coupling the said codes sequentially to all the transponders which lie within the range of the said inductive coupling, this being done, evidently, after encoding and modulation; and in the said transponder: means for demodulating and decoding the received codes which have been sequentially transmitted by the said transmission and reading apparatus; means for sequentially writing these codes to a data shift register; means for comparing the said transmitted codes with the individual code stored in each transponder, after transfer to a shift register, and means which, in case of a positive comparison, enable the transponder to return an identification response signal to the transmission and reading apparatus. <IMAGE> |
