PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency by arranging drive bodies having 45 deg. faces at the opposite sides of a piezoelectric element and utilizing the elongating/ contracting force of the piezoelectric element for rotary driving on the right and left sides simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:In an ultrasonic motor, an elongatable/contractable piezoelectric element 1-a is secured and drive bodies 1-b are fitted integrally at the opposite ends to produce a drive unit 1, whereafter the drive body 1-b is cut off with 45 deg. angle at the tip thereof to form a 45 deg. inclining face for producing oval motion of wave thus completing a drive source. Rotary discs 2 are arranged at the right and left on the opposite end faces, and then the discs are pressed resiliently from the opposite directions by means of a spring 5 and a drive nut 6 so that a shaft 3 is fitted in the rotary disc 2 thus supporting the shaft rotatably. By such arrangement, driving force can be produced from the right and left ends of the drive body 1-b simultaneously through elongation/contraction of the piezoelectric element 1-a. |
