<p>PURPOSE:To enable capturing of extremely fine particles as well by isolating and supporting two sheets of conductive filters which are positioned oppositely to each other in parallel with supporting walls of a high dielectric material and connecting the two filters to both electrodes of a high volage DC power source. CONSTITUTION:A pair of conductive filters 1, 1' used respectively on an inlet side and an outlet side, for example, flat plates formed of fibrous activated carbon, are placed from each other at a prescribrd distance and are disposed opposite to each other. Electic field spaces 4 communicating from the conductive filter 1 on the inlet side with the conductive filter 1' on the outlet side through supporting walls formed of a high dielectric material (e.g. PVC) are formed between said filters, and a DC high voltage power source 3 is thrown between the filters 1 and 1'. A high voltage generating circuit of, for example, DC 1,200V, 2mA is used for the power source 3. As a result, extremely fine particles such as smoke of a cigarette are captured and collected.</p> |
