PURPOSE:To facilitate the mounting and demounting of a chain for snow road by installing an accommodating case onto the chassis of a car, opposed to the driving wheels, and winding-accommodating the chain which elastically holds the laying shape onto the outer periphery of a tire and advancing and retreating the chain by a driving device. CONSTITUTION:A chain 1 for snow road is made by connecting a pair of opposed side bands 2 and 2 having the sectional surface in T-figure form by the connecting bands 3... which cross the outer peripheral surface of a tire and has a sufficient length. The side band 2 is made of plastic material, and a leaf spring for maintaining itself in spiral form for reinforcement is buried inside in the longitudinal direction. The accommodating case 18 for the chain 1 is installed onto a so chassis so as to be opposed to a driving wheel W, and a driving device 22 including a pair of trailing pinions 24 and 24 meshed with a rack 6 formed onto each side band 2 is installed onto a chain advancing and retreating part 20 extended in the direction of tangential line to the cylindrical body 19 of the case 18. A channel shaped guide frame 26 which can turn around a supporting shaft 27 is installed onto the advancing and retreating part 20. |
