摘要 The radar incorporates a number of signal processing channels (15,16,24) for synthetic aperture with different target-Doppler-frequencies, and which move at specific speeds within a predetermined speed range. An additional signal processing facility (21) and an interface logic (19) function dependent upon a detection in any of the channels, causing the facility to form further processing channels for synthetic aperture adjusted to the frequencies spaced apart in the channel in which detection occurs, so that with increased precision, the position and/or speed of the detected target may be determined. The radar installation is platform-mounted, the platform moving at a specific speed. The channels (15,16,24) are matched to different frequencies spaced apart by a value less than 2 VPx theta/lambda, in which Vp is the transversal platform speed, theta is the width of the real radiation, and lambda is the radar signal wavelength. A further signal processing channel (11) has a higher dispersal than the previously mentioned channels, and is suited to stationary targets. It emits an output signal with higher spatial dispersal in the movement direction of the radar than any of the other channels. The radar transmitter (1) emits long and short pulses, the basic processing channels (15,16,24) handling the return of the long pulses, whilst the higher dispersal channel handles the return of the short pulses.
