PURPOSE: To take optimum measurement inside a printing machine even at the time of operation by disposing a measuring cylinder at the back of the final printing part of the printing machine and by measuring a printing control strip through the intermediary of an optical means in the course of the time when the printing control strip comes into contact with the measuring cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A printed sheet 7 is delivered from an impression cylinder 5 to a sheet gripper 6 provided on a gripper bridge 8. The sheet gripped by the sheet gripper 6 is wound on a measuring cylinder 1 at an angle of about 180 in the course of rotation of this measuring cylinder. By sliding a position fixing screw in an opening 20 in the circumferential direction, an optical means 2 or 4 is moved to each desired angular position along the whole circumference of the cylinder and locked at that place. When a printing control strip of the sheet 7 held by the sheet gripper 6 reaches a position above the optical means 2 or 4, measurement of a corresponding measuring area is executed. |
