PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in the charging characteristics of a developer due to toner filming to the surface of the carrier by coating the surfaces of the carrier and toner particles with coating layers made of specified low surface energy substance. CONSTITUTION:The surfaces of carrier and toner particles are coated with a low surface energy substance such as n-C19H38COOH which is solid at ordinary temp. and is composed of a 10-30C hydrocarbon group and a polar group represented by formulaI, II or III (where M is a metal), and the coated carrier and toner particles are mixed to prepare a developer for electrophotography. |
