Centrifugal separator with a rotor, which forms an inlet (8) for a liquid mixture of components, a separation chamber (5), a first outlet (21) located centrally in the separation chamber (5) and a second outlet (26) located radially outside the first outlet (21), and a central outlet chamber (24), which via passages is connected to the second outlet (26) and communicates with the surroundings of the rotor via a central opening in an end wall (23) delimiting the outlet chamber (24). A stationary outlet device (29, 33, 35) is arranged centrally in the outlet chamber (24). In order to restore equilibrium in the centrifugal separator when the interface between a heavier and a lighter component in the separation chamber (5) has been displaced radially outwards past the second outlet (26) the centrifugal separator is provided with an axially movable slide (36) surrounding the opening (34). The slide (36) has a groove (37), in which accumulated rotating liquid acts with a pressure against a radial element (38) of the slide (36) and brings the slide (36) to move axially to sealing abutment against a part (35) of the outlet device (29, 33, 35). |
