The rod (30) of a brake pad (27) is located to the rear of the longitudinal middle of the latter, and the middle part of a cantilever (18) is curved forwards so that the cable connector of the cantilever and the rod of the brake pad are located close to one another on the line of extension of a cable (39) in the shape of an arc when viewed from the side. The support pin for the brake pad rod is inserted into the cantilever from the rear of the latter and fixed by a front fastening nut (35).
<??>Since the brake pad rod (30) is located to the rear of the longitudinal middle, the stress developed on the fastening part of the rod remains low during braking. Also, since the support pin for the rod (30) is fixed by the front fastening nut (35), maintenance work becomes easier.
