The invention relates to a toggling electronic circuit comprising at least two stable states, including a safety state, as well as means for locking in safety position which are automatically triggered in certain circumstances, essentially upon a failure or inadequacy of the main electrical power supply source of the circuit. According to the invention, the device comprises: - means (16, 17) for detecting a failure of said main energy source (10); - back-up power supply means, consisting of an energy reserve (11), usable in the event of failure of the main power supply source (10); - means for forcing the device (15) into safety state, which are driven by the means of detecting the failure of the main power supply source (16, 17). The invention applies especially to the backed-up control of a solenoid valve by a coin machine or memory card reader. <IMAGE>
