The oven doors, especially for ovens with automatic cleaning using pyrolysis, are provided with three or more window panes (8, 11, 12, 16) arranged one behind the other which make it possible to look inside the oven (14) and which at the same time provide heat insulation. In the event of formation of a lot of steam inside the oven, a part of the steam runs the risk of entering the space between the window panes and condensing therein. According to the invention the space (22) between the inner window pane (16) and the nearest window pane (12) opens into a channel (33) leading from this hot region in operation into a cooler region at the upper edge of the door. This results in a pronounced so-called chimney effect which enables steam to be discharged outside. <IMAGE>
