<p>A truck 2 is able to move laterally over the movable plate 1 of the storage system in order to project partially on one side or the other of the plate 1. The truck 2 carries two parallel endless chains 4 which work in a vertical plane. Each chain 4 carries two pairs of catches 11, 11', 12, 12' which project towards the outside and are designed in order to engage in one or the other of the handles 16, 16' of a container 15 to be handled. The catches are arranged along the chain 4 so that the catches 11, 12' are engaged simultaneously inside the handles 16, 16' of the container 15, whilst the distance between the catches 11, 11' and between the catches 12, 12' is greater than the dimension of the handles 16, 16' of the container. The device makes it possible to handle, simply and rapidly, containers whose handles are made from moulded plastic material or from folded thin sheet metal. <IMAGE></p> |
