The subscriber's installation possesses at least two socket connections in series for at most one telephone jack each, the jacks separating the two sockets. A holding circuit connected to the free terminals (a2,b2) of the last socket in the series (B) takes over the loop current for an interval given by a time control when the exchange lines (La,Lb) are switched through, reproducing the d.c. and a.c. resistances of telephone equipment and interrupting the loop current after the expiry of this interval. ADVANTAGE - Telephone jack can be taken from one socket and placed in another without breaking connection.
