The driver's eyes (4) are protected against the headlamps (1) of oncoming vehicles by an anti-dazzle screen (5) positioned on the windscreen by a motorised drive (6) from an electronic controller (7). The control is responsive to signals from sensors (8,9) of the positions of the headlamps and of the driver's eyes respectively, so that the screen is repositioned in step with movements of the driver's head. Alternatively, a screen built into the headlamp may be adjusted by radio link commands. ADVANTAGE - Efficient automatic device acts only on light liable to dazzle the driver.
