An opening (3) in the floor (1) of a baseplate (30) accepts and secures the cover (32) of the socket portion (4) of a standard connector. The plug portion (29) is fitted horizontally into the socket (4). For wall-mounted installation a sealing gasket is set into a peripheral groove (26), and a cover (2) is coupled by pivot arms (41) to hinge pins (11) near the top edges of the baseplate (30), with a closure plate (15) fitted into recesses (13). ADVANTAGE - Various connectors can be accepted into housing and held securely against external influences such as weather, water and foreign bodies.
