The present invention relates to a device for orientating the hooks of longlines comprising a main line (3) and feathers or tufts (2) projecting from the line and each provided at its free end with a hook (1). The device includes two plates (6, 7) which define therebetween a slot (8) through which the main line, feathers and hooks are intended to be drawn, the hooks (1) thus orientated by passage through the device being intended to be passed onto a guide rail (4). One plate (6) has provided towards the end thereof a channel (11) through which the main line (3), the feathers (2) and the stems of the hooks can pass and where means (12) are provided for pressing the line, the feathers and the hook-stems down into the channel (11) against the bottom thereof, such as to rotate the hooks (1) with their pointed ends distal from the bottom of the channel (11). |
