<p>A problem with many types of image intensifiers are spurious signals and unwanted data. To overcome this problem this invention provides a method and apparatus of assigning a grey value within a predetermined range to each pixel and dividing the image into regions dependent upon the density of occurrence of selected grey values thereby reducing random signals and those areas too small to be of interest.</p> |
