Device for drying an image support (13) printed by means of an ink printing head (10) using electric heating, in which the device extends at least over the width of the image support (13). The device has a heatable well (22) to take the image support (13) which is so constructed that a virtually uniform temperature prevails in said well (22) on heating. The device is made up of modules in such a way that it can be inserted in a holder (57) of the ink printing installation regardless of position.
