<p>A sound synthesizer including a uniform noise generator (32) which outputs a series of number outputs (GN, PN) to a uniform to gaussian transform operator (34) in response to index inputs. The gaussian transform operator (34) converts the number outputs to waveforms having generally gaussian characteristics. The waveforms are then operated on by a variable gain amplifier (36), a long delay predictor (38), a short delay predictor (40), a de-emphasis filter (42) and an output amplifier (43) in order to provide synthesized sounds.</p> |
