A thread brake has at least one brake element (B) which moves relative to a counter brake element (BG). In braking positions, the brake element acts on the threads, and it can be moved into a threading position in which the thread can travel unbraked through the thread brake. A brake element adjusting device is provided. The adjusting device has a drive (A) for obtaining the threading position of the thread brake (FK, FL, F'L). The thread brake has air-distributing surfaces (L) which, in the threading position, define an air-distributing channel for automatic pneumatic threading of the thread (Y) by means of an air current. |
