The support, made of composite fibre material, especially for a motor vehicle has a U-shaped cross section. At least the lengthwise part of the support from the base (3) of the U has ridges (5-8,10,11) extending between the sides of the U. The ridges slope in relation to the lengthwise middle plane of the support, or slope in opposite ways and intersect in the lengthwise middle plane. USE/ADVANTAGE - The support on which torque is exerted possesses high flexural strength on account of the ridges on it.
